History

NorthReach Healthcare was formed on October 1, 2000, as a joint venture network of primary care physicians. The owners of the organization are Bellin Health System of Green Bay and Bay Area Medical Center of Marinette. The goal of this venture was to unite a number of local clinics together to preserve and enhance primary health care services for the residents of Marinette and Menominee County. Further, the partnership was the direct result of BAMC’s and Bellin’s interest in preserving local health care options in the area, while also finding ways to improve service delivery in an increasingly competitive market place.

In its brief existence, NorthReach Healthcare has gone from 18 primary care physicians and nurse practitioners to almost 30 today. Several additional clinics were added including NorthReach Internal Medicine, NorthReach Pediatrics and Linda Werner, MD and Associates – all in Marinette.

A new medical center was built in Crivitz to care for the growing needs of its residents in March of 2003. The 19,000 square-foot state-of-the-art medical clinic included procedure rooms for minor surgeries, x-ray services, bone densitometry and on-site mammography. Additionally, Bay Area Medical Center uses part of the building to provide physical, speech, and occupational therapy on-site for added patient convenience.

In October 2003, the NorthReach Board of Directors approved Dr. Calvin Nogler as its first Medical Director to provide and develop leadership within the organization. Dr. Nogler has overseen the development of a Practice Executive Committee, which directs the day-to-day operations of NorthReach Healthcare and is made up of six providers of various specialties and backgrounds. This executive committee ensures a physician led health care organization. It provides for development of clinical policies, provider recruiting, development of quality assurance guidelines, and direction for the development of provider performance standards.

Today the NorthReach Healthcare physician base has grown to become the largest group of primary care physicians in the community.
